PK22™ AND PK61™ 60 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SET

60 years of grand design in the spirit of Poul Kjærholm is worth celebrating. This fall we salute the Danish carpenter and his 1956 works - the PK22™ easy chair and PK61™ coffee table - and unite them in an exclusive anniversary set. With the Poul Kjærholm anniversary set we present craftsmanship classics in new advanced materials true to the Poul Kjærholm way of constructing beautiful furniture that lasts.

PK22 - ELEGANCE LAID LOW
Introduced in 1956, the PK22 easy chair was an immediate commercial and critical success. The chair won the Grand Prix at the 1957 XI Triennale di Milano, and the following year Kjærholm won the Lunning Prize, Scandinavia’s most prestigious award for design and applied art, largely on the strength of the PK22 craftsmanship and design.

PK22 is made from one seat and back piece upholstered in the advanced suede Royal nubuck and the frame is crafted in steel in Anthracite grey.




PK61 - MARBLE MAGNIFICENCE
The low PK61 coffee table was also created by Kjærholm in 1956 to complement the PK22 easy chair. The easy chair was one of his most elementary designs and it had the power of a manifesto. The distillation of the structure to a set of identical elements, governed by geometry and the structural properties of the materials illustrated Kjærholm’s evolution from industrial designer to furniture architect. The anniversary PK61 tabletop comes in Petra marble - a durable and beautiful surface with an exquisite high-end look and feel to it.

Both items come with a distinct anniversary stamp on them.

Today, 60 years later, the PK22 and PK61 works are launched in the exclusive anniversary edition available in stores from 1st. of September 2016 in a limited time period of 12 months only.
